"All American Buddha" - Always Here
Tuesday October 18, 2005
I had something happen to me many years ago that has given me some insight into the situation in Iraq though totally unrelated. . I was living on an Island near the mouth of the Chesapeake bay. The blue fish were "running" and on this particular day an Island buddy and I decided to do so fishing by trolling along, but outside the Jetty that protected the Islands harbor. What I didn't know was that my buddy didn't have the required registration on his skiff which was only a 16 footer with a 15 hp outboard. Well, we were trolling south of the harbor inlet when we saw a marine police boat come out of the harbor heading our way along the jetty. With that, my buddy said, "Hold on" and opened the throttle to the lil outboard. His back was to the oncoming police boat and I was at the bow looking at him and the Police boat heading our way, When my buddy "dumped" the full 15 into it, I could see the Coast Guard "dump" their outboards at about the same time. The difference was, They were on a 32 footer and instead of 15hp to dump into the race, they "dumped" in a pair of 150hp Evenrudes as the front of their boat raised into the air climbing well up on the choppy Bay waters. My mind quickly calculated that there was quite a mismatch goin here But I underestimated this Island buddy's grasp of the situation as he cranked a hard left directly toward the jetty. It was than, that I say the jetty was "broke down" at one point with just a few rocks breaking the surface an when we reached that point, this crazy Islander buddy tilted the out board just as we got to the "break" that was tucked back into the Jetty a bit. WHEEEEEEEEEE the prop on the outboard went as we skimmed back into the harbor truckin' it for the for the marsh "guts". Unfortunately, the Coast Guard had such a head of steam that when they headed for the "break down "in the Jetty they didn't spot that the "break down" only allowed for about two feet of draft over the submerged rocks. . So, my last view of the cutter was, a full 300 horses dead in the water and a guy on the bow with binoculars watching us disappear into the nearest "marsh gut". Later we heard that they were pissed of course but in addition had lost the boats undercarriage and two very nice and very expensive Evenrudes. The Coast Guard was the laugh of the island. . What that taught me, was to never underestimate the "little guy" particularly when your in his back yard.

First, a lot of the claims about Iraq having so-called weapons of mass destruction were based on statements made by Hussein Kamel, son-in-law of Saddam Hussein, who said at the same time that Iraq HAD DESTROYED ALL of its WEAPONS of mass destruction in 1991. But the Bush gang ACCIDENTLY left out that little FACT with great consistency.

Yep, that's what I am going to paint, a flock of geese flying in a coral landscape. 8ftx8ft on two 4ftx4ft panels. Tell ya what I'm gonna do, I'll take you along by taking pictures of the various stages. I think It will surprises to see what's involved in coming up with an original work of art. Maybe I can give ya some commentary too. Or maybe one with a covey of salmon being flushed up from the weeds on one and the geese on the other. What do you think, what are we going to paint?
WOAH YEHAWWWWWWW I just saw them In my Minds eye, you wait they are are gonna flip you out. It will be about two months of work more or less. Now I am excited!!!!! Thats what I'm talkin' about, some fun!!

Have you ever heard anyone say, "I think he lost his mind?" When I heard it the first time, it never occurred to me to answer yes or no, but rather, "Is that really Possible?"
So of course Me being Me,cuz I gotta see, I tried to loose mine! I tried to out run it, but it wasn't easily tricked and the next thing I hear is, "You're getting tired, you're getting very tired". Mind was still there!
I tried to get it drunk and sneak away but than I heard it quite soberly say, "Yer gonna throw up...head to the head". Again lo luck. How 'bout drugs I thought, I can certainly loose my mind that way, or can I...hum... my familiar Me reasoned.
My mission was not to kill myself but to loose my mind so I did tha Do. I began getting excited as I felt my mind begin disappearing far up into the night sky, "maybe it's true after all", I didn't say to myself as up ward it went. Suddenly I saw a door and a bell was ringing, I heard the words, "Look behind door number One",So I did
Than with a "snap" and with what I now call "The rubber band effect", I heard mind say "Look at that". Mind had just yanked me into the heavens to have a "Look see". So I looked. I saw a gazillion stars, all joined precisely by fine strands of gold and hung high into the unfathonable vaulted space it calls home.
MISSION COMPLETE, now I knew the Truth,a mind could not be lost, only found through a willingness to seek the Truth and accept it when it "RINGS YOUR BELL".
SHEZAAAAM, SHEZAAAAAM, GOLEEEEE what a SUPRISE to see!
